Here at CommUNITY Barnet we like to do things a little differently and that includes how we run our Funders’ Fairs. Our goal was to provide our members with direct access to funders but before we could do this we needed to make sure they were ready. We worked with 50 individual organisations, coaching them and improving their skills before moving on to assisting them with their applications. These organisations then went onto pitch their ideas directly to major funders and receive their feedback. Over the two events we had 150 organisations registered to hear what the funders had to say about making grant applications to their foundations and Trusts.
These events were also a fantastic opportunity for organisations from the voluntary sector to ask questions and gather information, as well as a chance to network with other charities and community groups from the local area.
A year later we are still receiving news on successful applications that have been made.
