Did you know that only 1% of the Black population in the UK are blood donors?
Did you also know that the NHS is running critically low on blood donation from Black donors? Increasing this can help with the demand and tackle health inequalities by combatting prevalent diseases within the Black Community.
Due to pressures from COVID-19 figures show that approximately 16,000 more blood donors are needed to meet the demand for those suffering from Sickle Cell Disease that requires life-saving transfusions. We at Community Barnet have partnered with the NHS to engage with Black communities in North and East London to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation. We are hosting an interactive online Community Coffee and Chat on 23 August between 12:00 – 13:30 where we will be speaking about the importance of blood donation as well as: ·
We want to hear from members of the Black community in North and East London about your experiences and answer any questions you may have.
Join us for a community coffee and a chat, August 23, from 12.00 - 13.30 pm
