Safeguarding for Children and Young People Level 1

This course is aimed at all staff who are in contact with children and young people.

This dynamic short course is designed as an introduction to safeguarding for children and young people.

Who is the training for?

  • If you work with children and young people you have a legal duty with regard to safeguarding, and having up-to-date knowledge and awareness of the subject is essential.
  • Any individual who has regular or intensive contact with children or young people aged 16 years+.
  • The training is suitable for paid staff and volunteers working in the Children’s and Young people sector.

Safeguarding Children & Young People Level 2

This full day course is for staff and volunteers who have already completed the level one safeguarding course. As well as covering the four categories of abuse, this course provides detailed information about understanding and recognising the possible signs and indicators of abuse. The course will provide detail on the appropriate actions for responding and reporting concerns about a child’s welfare in-line with your organisational safeguarding policy as well as understanding the local authority’s reporting protocol.

  • By the end of the course you will be able to:
  • Identify the four categories of abuse
  • recognise signs and symptoms of abuse
  • know how to respond to a disclosure
  • understand the referral process
  • be aware of safer working practices
